| "Five years ago, my wife and I bought an old farmstead northwest of Madison. It had a turn-of-the-century house that we hoped to renovate and live in someday. Finally, in 2014, we felt the time was right to sell our Sioux Falls house and move to the acreage permanently.
My wife heard about Williams Brothers Construction through a coworker so we contacted them about renovating our old farmhouse. Craig Williams met with us and we shared our dream of restoring it with him. Right away, we liked Craig’s can-do attitude, enthusiasm, and friendliness so we decided he was the right contractor for us. Craig started working on plans for the renovation while we started gutting the house in preparation for the renovation.
Unfortunately, some dreams are just not meant to be. Many problems with the structure of the old house were revealed during demolition. Craig was supportive and investigated many options to keep our project within budget but eventually it was evident the cost of renovation was going to be more than building a new house. So, the decision was made to tear down the old house and build a new one.
We wanted a county-style house and after showing him some examples of what we liked, Craig and his staff quickly designed us a new house that had all the features we desired and was within our budget.
The demolition of the old house and construction of the new house went as smoothly as one could expect. Craig, his crew, and his subcontractors were exceptionally easy to work with throughout the entire process. Phone calls and messages were returned promptly and Craig would meet with us frequently, in person, to explain the next steps and get our preferences on the multitude of things that go into a new house. Sure, there were a few bumps in the road, but all were relatively minor and did not cause significant delays. Most importantly, Craig and his team handled everything very professionally and courteously.
Everyone has heard stories about construction projects gone bad and contractors who were a nightmare to work with. Our experience with Williams Brothers Construction was nothing like that at all. Many people also say they would never build another house again. My wife and I do not feel that way either. We plan to live here for the rest of our life, but if we did decide to move and build a new house, we would definitely choose Williams Brothers Construction to build it. In the meantime, we have future plans to renovate some of our old farm buildings and Williams Brothers Construction will be our first choice for those jobs as well. "

By now, they saw for themselves the workmanship in the twin home project, and simply told me to “get a bid from Craig and let him build it“. That project is ahead of schedule, on budget, and will open in January.
